Yesterday evening, the third edition of the B2RUN Berlin, the finale of the German company running series took place at teh Olympiastadion Berlin. More than 7.000 runners from about 450 companies registered for this year’s run. Runners included former Boxing World Champion Henry Maske, Handball national team goalkeeper Silvio Heinvetter and SAT.1 commentator Simone Panteleit. All three were ambassadors of the German company running series and started to honor the commitment of the participating companies to health promotion.
Usually, the stage for a major event at the Olympiastadion Berlin is constructed several meters in front of the marathon gate. Thomas, along with architect Kemal Akay cut the red ribbon and inaugurated the modernized, completely redesigned visitor center, a ceremony. In preparation for opening the two stood side by representatives of the Olympic Stadium in Berlin Anja Baumann of the Berlin advertising agency Runze & Casper and Manfred Uhlitz, operator of the Glockenturm on the podium for journalists to answer questions. The press conference was moderated by Christopher Meyer, who was able to welcome in his capacity as spokesman for the Olympic Stadium in Berlin as well as an extremely gracious host other weather gods.

DFB team beats Canada 2:1to open World Cup play
In front of the European record crowd of 73.680 spectators, the German Women’s national team successfully started in World Cup play. Thanks to great one-on-one play and exact passing game, the German team was able to secure a 2:1 victory over Team Canada. Team Germany pressed for the first goal of the match, and after just 10 minutes, the goal would come. Babett Peter crossed the ball from the left flank perfectly and Kerstin Garefrekes had no trouble converting on a header to beat Canadian goalkeeper Erin Mcleod for the 1:0 lead for Team Germany!
DFL publishes match schedulefor 2011/2012 season
The German Football League (DFL – Deutsche Fußball Liga) has published the match schedule for the upcoming Bundesliga season today. Hertha BSC will welcome the 1. FC Nürnberg for the first match of the season at the Olympiastadion Berlin on the weekend of August 6 & 7, 2011. The exact match times are yet to be determined and will be published a few weeks ahead of the matches by the DFL.

In the Berlin offices of the representation of the state of Baden Württemberg, all FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011 stadia were awarded a certificate as part of the environmental campaign Green Goal. The certificate was awarded by Claudia Roth, who, next to her job as national chairwoman of the Green party Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, also is the chairwoman of the environmental advisory board of Green Goal 2011.

The team from up north landed at Tegel Airport in Berlin on Sunday afternoon.

55.000 fans celebrated a terrific concert evening with Herbert Grönemeyer at the Olympiastadion Berlin. His „Schiffsverkehr“ Tour stop was accompanied by beautiful weather and Grönemeyer started the evening off rocking with his new single that also bears the name „Schiffsverkehr“. Many classic Grönemeyer hits followed and the spectators were able to sing along and party to „Was soll das“, „Männer“ and „Alkohol“. The new album was also very much integrated into the show and Grönemeyer played a good number of new songs.

Many people from in and around Berlin came to see mostly historic automobiles from across the pond. The event organizers of the Street Mag Show had invited car owners from all across Europe to the capital for the first time in nine years.
