July 1st 2010 – Joachim E. Thomas is assuming the directors office of the Olympiastadion Berlin GmbH. The companies board of directors has appointed the 56-year-old attorney as general manager till June 30th 2015.

He is responsible for acquisition, planning and realization of mega-events e.g. the FIFA womens worldcup opening match, the development of the division hospitality and events, tourism and the medial commercialization. In addition he is in charge of the location´s strengthening by the usage of new concepts.

His latest job has been in a consultancy firm, leading projects in divisions like sport, cultural and freetime (realized in Commerzbank Arena, Frankfurt and Allianz Arena, Munich). The main focus was set on planning, building and operating.
