Representatives of the Sports Metropolis Berlin, among them the Olympiastadion Berlin, support Berlin’s bid for the Olympics: Sports clubs, event organizers, big sports venues, sports and state institutions, and economic organizations promote Berlin’s bid for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024 or 2028.

The basis for Olympic Games in Berlin is unique: At least half of the required competition venues already exists, the transport system is compliant with Olympic needs, and the number of hotel rooms exceeds the requirements of the IOC already today. The initiative Sports Metropolis Berlin sees a big chance for Berlin in hosting the Olympics, be it as a magnet for tourists, a boost for economy and new jobs, a strengthening of infrastructure, or a renovation and construction of existing and new sports venues.

A bid for Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024 or 2028 is supported in adherence to certain aspects: The Games need to match the city’s air of future trends, creativity, and innovation. In addition, a transparent and socially and environmentally sustainable design is important. And the citizens of Berlin need to be included in the development of the bidding concept.
