The victory closes a circle for the Spaniards: The team started the tournament with a confident 3-0 win against Croatia in the Olympiastadion Berlin. The team emerged as winners seven times from a total of seven EURO games. The “Furia Roja” was only once pushed into extra time, when they defeated Germany in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win.
