DFL publishes match schedule for 2011/2012 season

The German Football League (DFL – Deutsche Fußball Liga) has published the match schedule for the upcoming Bundesliga season today. Hertha BSC will welcome the 1. FC Nürnberg for the first match of the season at the Olympiastadion Berlin on the weekend of August 6 & 7, 2011. The exact match times are yet to be determined and will be published a few weeks ahead of the matches by the DFL.

After the start to the season at the Olympiastadion Berlin, Hertha will travel the next two weeks. First, the team coached by Markus Babbel will travel to hanseatic city on the Elbe river, where they will take on the Hamburger SV. The week after, the team will travel to Niedersachsen to take on UEFA Europa League participant Hannover 96.
The season finale on May 5, 2012 will take place at the Olympiastadion Berlin, where Hertha BSC will host TSG Hoffenheim.
The first match of the 49th Bundesliga season is traditionally opened by the defending champion. This year, Borussia Dortmund will take on the Hamburger SV at the Signal Iduna Park in the home opener.
