UEFA EURO 2024: Halftime in Berlin Preliminary round played, Switzerland against Italy in the round of 16

UEFA EURO 2024 group games at the Olympiastadion Berlin: The first three games at the Olympiastadion have been played. Switzerland versus Italy in the round of 16 in Berlin.

While the final games in Groups E and F are pending this Wednesday, the Olympiastadion Berlin is getting ready for the round of 16 match between Switzerland and Italy on Saturday, June 29th, 2024. Switzerland secured their place in the round of 16 by finishing second in Group A. Italy, also second in Group B, secured their place in the round of 16 with a late 1-1 draw against Croatia.

The group games in the Olympiastadion Berlin had it all: the fans saw a total of 12 goals in the Olympiastadion. Five goals alone were scored in yesterday’s 2:3 draw between the Netherlands and Austria. Surprisingly to many, the Austrians secured group victory in Group D with their win against the ‘Elftal’, ahead of co-favorites France and the third-placed Dutch, who in turn also qualified for the knockout round as the currently best third-placed team of the tournament.

June 21, 2024 – Group D – Poland versus Austria – Result: 1-3
June 25, 2024 – Group D – Netherlands versus Austria – Result: 2-3
