Their concerts fill arenas, (almost) everyone recognises their faces, and all three have performed at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin: we are talking about Bruce Springsteen, Bono of U2 and Udo Lindenberg. Together, their portraits form part of an exhibition being staged by the CAMERA WORK gallery in the Hall of Honour at the Olympic Stadium. From 24 July to 9 August, works from the world-famous ‘Close Up’ series by star photographer Martin Schoeller will be on display in this extraordinary setting. Alongside the three musicians mentioned, the exhibition will also feature photographs of, amongst others, Taylor Swift, footballers Lionel Messi, Pelé and Zinédine Zidane, and actors Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington.

Martin Schoeller is one of the world’s most renowned portrait photographers. His “Close-Up” series was launched more than 25 years ago and consistently adheres to the same technical parameters. This brings the subject to the fore, resulting in highly authentic works. Born in Munich, he studied photography at the Lette Verein in Berlin and moved to New York in the mid-1990s. His work has been published in *Time*, *The New Yorker* and *National Geographic*, amongst others. *We All Bleed Red* is a documentary film that celebrated its world premiere in 2024. Documentary filmmaker Josephine Links accompanied her stepbrother Martin Schoeller on his private photography shoots and shows how the photographer creates very personal spaces for connection with his subjects. The film will be screened on 2 and 9 August at 2.00 pm in the Ehrenhalle. No separate tickets are required for the screenings; an admission ticket for the Berlin Olympic Stadium is sufficient.
Tickets for a tour of the Berlin Olympic Stadium cost 11.00 euros per person (8.00 euros/concession). Children aged between 6 and 14 pay 6.00 euros; children under 6 are admitted free of charge when
