Olympiastadion Berlin wins Meeting Experts Green Award 2015

Yesterday evening in Frankfurt am Main the Olympiastadion Berlin was awarded with the 1st place in the category Energy Management / Conservation of Resources of the Meeting Experts Green Award by the GCB German Convention Bureau e.V. and the European Association of Event Centers e.V. (EVVC). An independent jury emphasized the effective and efficient energy management of the Olympiastadion Berlin.

The state-owned operating company of the Olympiastadion Berlin leads an intelligent energy management since the re-opening in 2004. The sustainable action plan includes the installation of an absorption refrigeration system, the modification of large technical systems for the reduction of operation time or even Germany’s largest cistern, along with many other projects.
